Lived Experiences of Married Postgraduate Students at University of Zambia Regarding Marriage Mate Selection

This research sought to find out the lived experiences of married postgraduate students at UNZA regarding marriage mate selection. The study used a qualitative methodology as well Case Study its design towards data collection. was collected using semi-structured interview guided questions. sample selection 16 in total which included 8 males and female participants. general literature overview this indicated that is fundamental social institution exists throughout world. And one most important decisions people’s life determines their happiness marriage. However, findings revealed people looked for attributes or factors such education because they believed marrying fellow educated person made it easy relate thinking would be aligned theirs. Secondly financial stability potential partner also an attribute both females prospective mate. Thirdly showed God-fearing preferred unlike non-believer belief Godly were less likely indulge unholy conduct infidelity. other perspectives includes some preference man who tall height dark complexion, while men women are beautiful with small curvy body structure. Finally, overall loving, caring good leadership qualities, woman respectful, intelligent, trustworthy, understanding refrained from taking alcohol. For further studies, recommended focus should conducted communities where there females.
